If you’re looking for a present for a Swiftie in your life — or maybe you’re a Taylor Swift fan looking to buy yourself a treat — look no further than I Love Taylor Swift: An Unofficial Fan Journal. When someone at Simon & Schuster kindly offered to send me a copy of the journal, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Some fan journals of this type are more gimmicky than actually interesting. But Princess Gabbara has assembled one with prompts that will test your knowledge of the blonde superstar, while also asking you to reflect on both her music and yourself.

The journal is full of prompts with space to answer them in detail. They range from questions about your favorite Taylor Swift songs to your thoughts on her influence on the music industry. There are also prompts for drawings and lists and quizzes to test your knowledge about Taylor. There is something for every mood you might be in, whether you’re looking for an easy way to pass the time or you’re ready for some deep introspection.

The questions also span the whole timeline of Taylor’s career, ensuring that fans both young and old, both new and long-standing will be able to fill out the journal with references to any part of her career. However, there are definitely a lot of references in it to things that only an intense fan would understand. It’s not meant for a casual Swiftie, and I’m very impressed with the wealth of Gabbara’s knowledge.

There are also questions geared toward her rerecords, her red carpet looks, and her philanthropic work. Some of my personal favorite prompts include ones about what Taylor has taught you about processing your emotions, your thoughts on her transition from country to pop, and how Taylor has changed your life. I enjoy the mix of questions centered around Taylor and ones centered around the person using the journal.

Whether you’re reminiscing about the Eras Tour, getting excited for a concert on the next leg of the Eras Tour, or looking for a present for a Taylor Swift fan in your life because you weren’t able to get tickets to the Eras Tour, then this fan journal would be an excellent choice. It’s one that I will certainly continue working through and that I think would be fun to use either with friends or on your own.
